# What You Need:

→ Bread

01 - 1 baguette or Italian loaf, sliced into 8 pieces (approximately ¾ inch thick)

→ Garlic Butter

02 - 3.5 oz unsalted butter, softened
03 - 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
04 - 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
05 - 1 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped (optional)
06 - ½ tsp salt
07 - ¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper

→ Optional Topping

08 - 1.5 oz grated Parmesan cheese

# How to Make It:

01 - Preheat your oven to 400°F or heat a grill to medium-high temperature.
02 - In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter with minced garlic, parsley, chives if using, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
03 - Place bread slices on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, ensuring pieces are spread evenly without overlapping.
04 - Spread a generous layer of the garlic butter mixture over each bread slice, covering the entire surface for maximum flavor.
05 - If desired, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the buttered bread slices.
06 - Bake for 8–10 minutes until bread achieves golden brown color and crispy texture. Alternatively, grill for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and toasted.
07 - Serve warm alongside pasta dishes, soups, or salads as an appetizer or accompaniment.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • The combination of fresh herbs and real garlic makes store bought versions seem completely forgettable
  • It transforms ordinary bread into something people request at every gathering
02 -
  • Watch closely after 7 minutes because the garlic can go from golden to bitter very quickly
  • Softening the butter properly prevents tearing the bread when you try to spread it
03 -
  • Grate the garlic on a microplane instead of mincing for a smoother texture that melts into the butter
  • Brush the bread edges lightly with olive oil to prevent burning while the tops brown perfectly
